Is your business affected by Covid-19 ?

Push Through The Media and Virus Pressure

It is 2020 and we live in uncertain times with the recent events regarding Covid-19. Naturally, you might be a bit worried. Well, we are! You should be too, however, we all have a business to run and our family lively hoods depends on that.

There are plenty of businesses who seem to have just almost given up. Whilst we understand why someone might feel pressured to throw in the towel, we also know that it isn’t the end. It’s time for business to adapt to the changing times.

Just remember: every day creates new opportunities, and it’s up to you to rise to the challenge. Here at Starlink, we have three suggestions that you should put into an account for your company right now.

1. Update your website or create a new one.

As a business owner, you probably already think you’re working as hard as you possibly can; but there’s always a way to improve your output. Whether it’s picking up on your social media sites, designing engaging new marketing campaigns or simply updating your website, you’re bound to find an assortment of jobs that need doing.

Here at Starlink, technical stuff that is behind everything is in our domain. Don’t be dependent only on Social Media accounts, because someday they can stop working. If you don’t have your company website, you should have one already!

If you are using a WordPress website, simply spend the time to update it. Just be sure to first back it up, just in case something goes bad. It’s a big security risk to have a non-updated site at this time. Hackers can easily take down your website because of some old plugin, it has happened to me, trust me it’s not fun rebuilding it quickly.

When did you last time post any updates on your website? Do it now, you surely have time for it. Post updates for your visitors to see, they are curious about what you are doing. Maybe you offer a delivery service for your goods, maybe you accept pre-orders? Your clients will support you if they know that they can do it.

Nowadays and in these hard times, every business should have a website. It is like a digital business card. Who will take you seriously if your company doesn’t have a website nor it can be found online?  If you don’t have your company’s website or e-commerce website, contact Startlink Development and we will help you to create one.

2. Work with your team remotely.

First off if your team and you don’t use google docs or other cloud solutions it’s time to start. Using cloud solutions you can easily collaborate on documents, share information and keep work going.

Secondly, are you suffering from not being able to access your work computer where you have the software you need to keep working? Well, there are a few solutions to this problem. The first and easiest is using TeamViewer it’s free for private use and paid for enterprise (I’ll tell you the secret, most businesses use the private license)

The third option (more secure) is to use a VPS network that connects to your workstation. Problem with all of this, that you need to keep your computer on 24/7, so you can access it. However, we did think about this too and it is possible to set up that your workstation automatically turns on/off at times. For example, PC turns on at 9 AM and turns off at 5 PM.

Finally, on top of everything above, to arrange each team member and company tasks we suggest using Asana. For video or voice communication a well-known by gamer communities is ‘Discord’ similar to Slack but for free where other software charges.

3. Plan out and get that CRM/ERP to automate your system or software.

You heard about it, but you just haven’t had the time to do it. When if not now? CRM and ERP systems help businesses automate and keep track of the most important processes. There are many options from Salesforce to custom solutions.

What is CRM and ERP? (source Wikipedia)

CRM – “Customer relationship management (CRM) is a technology for managing all your company’s relationships and interactions with customers and potential customers. The goal is simple: Improve business relationships. A CRM system helps companies stay connected to customers, streamline processes, and improve profitability.”

ERP – “Enterprise resource planning (ERP) refers to a type of software that organizations use to manage day-to-day business activities such as accounting, procurement, project management, risk management, and compliance, and supply chain operations. A complete ERP suite also includes enterprise performance management, software that helps plan, budget, predict, and report on an organization’s financial results.”

So where should you start?

The world is changing, it won’t be the same as it was before this virus. With all of the new changes, along with the government guidelines to stay inside and limit your contact with others, you’ve have time to get ahead of the competition. Sure, you might be tempted to just sit back, relax and take a break from your work – but think about your competitors; they probably have the same idea or perhaps they are working even harder to be the first.

Are you going to waste the chance to get ahead of them?

Now you have the time to work on every aspect of your business. It makes sense to prioritize the jobs you wouldn’t normally have the time to complete. Essentially, you need to work ON your business, and not inside your business. Don’t waste time anymore, if you’re not sure, you can contact our team and we will help you.
